About us

Mayrx Recovery is a substance use primary outpatient treatment center in Asheville, NC. We are professional, agile, and our goal is to provide nonjudgemental, consistent, and person-centered treatment for patients and their supports. We are physician owned and harm reduction focused.

Job Purpose

The primary responsibility in your role will be to follow guidelines to admit patients into the facility. This involves screening patients by acquiring relevant information, managing referrals in and out, assessing the criteria for program eligibility, running verifications of benefits for insurance, and obtaining prior authorizations. Parallelly, marketing to all area resources and networking with companies, and maintaining admissions connections within other organizations in the field for flow of referrals.

Duties and Responsibilities

● Screen applicants according to criteria set forth by the company and the ASAM criteria to reject or accept patients appropriately.

● Obtain patient information by interviewing patients and completing a pre-screening assessment to decide the correct level of care, if any clarifying material is needed, if prior stabilization is needed, and to schedule intake.

● Run verifications of benefits for insurances, through various portals and calling when necessary. Ability to obtain single case agreements, fax prior authorizations, and conduct utilization reviews.

● Resolve complaints in the admissions process by investigating the matter and recommend changes in the company’s procedural policies if needed. Collaborate with management to streamline the admissions process for greater efficiency and client satisfaction.

● Stay current on the most relevant and important information in the field by attending conferences and networking events.

● Maintain patient confidentiality.

● Maintain accurate records of admissions and discharges.

● Have appropriate interpersonal and professional skills to market the organization and conduct tours of the facilities.

● Market Mayrx Recovery in the community, engage in networking community events, and schedule meetings with Detox facilities, Treatment facilities, Dr’s offices, etc.. all over NC.

● Willingness to accept new tasks as they arise and constantly explore opportunities to grow within the organization.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

● High School Diploma

● Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, social work, or communications preferred, or equivalent combination of education or certification and work experience.

● Current and valid North Carolina Driver License. Personal and reliable means of transportation.

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

● Excellent interpersonal skills and detail oriented.

● Ability to manage sensitive and confidential documentation and situations with tact, professionalism, compassion, and diplomacy always.

● Proficiently in google drive, insurance, and charting platforms

Working Conditions

● Must be able to work in a challenging environment with multiple interruptions throughout the workday. Must be able to maintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment while providing support with crisis interventions if needed. Must be willing to have flexibility outside of the typical 8 hour work day.

In performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, use fingers to feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms regularly. The employee occasionally lifts/carries paperwork, files, office supplies, weighing up to twenty pounds. Also, pushing or pulling up items up to 5-10 pounds.
