Responsibilities:

Operates conventional, special‑purpose, and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) lathe machines to machine metallic and nonmetallic parts, applying knowledge of machine shop theory, procedures, and shop mathematics.

Requirements:

This position requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work with a range of sophisticated machinery.
Read and comprehend drawings, work instructions, and any special specifications to effectively and safely machine parts.
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls as required.
Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly, using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks.
Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Keep detailed records of work performed and parts used.
Must be a team player.

Experience:

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 1 year of lathe machining experience, set-up, and mill experience is a plus.
Ability to read prints.
Proficient in precision gaging.
