Full Job Description

Role Summary:
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee comprehensive bookkeeping functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance across various financial operations. Your expertise in accounting software and financial concepts will drive precise record-keeping, support financial reporting, and uphold the integrity of our financial data. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving organization committed to excellence and transparency.

Duties:

Manage and perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
Conduct balance sheet reconciliation regularly to verify asset, liability, and equity accounts align with supporting documentation
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining detailed records
Prepare and review financial reports, including statements that adhere to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or similar platforms to record transactions and generate reports
Perform bank reconciliations and ensure proper debits & credits are applied in accordance with double entry bookkeeping principles
Support payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements as needed
Assist with budgeting activities and provide detailed account analysis to support financial decision-making
Maintain accurate documentation of all journal entries, adjustments, and audit trails for internal review or external audits

Qualifications:

Proven experience in corporate accounting or non-profit accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP standards
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or equivalent tools is essential
Demonstrated expertise in general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis
Knowledge of governmental accounting practices and tax experience is a plus
Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and financial report writing
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
10 key typing skills for accurate data entry and quick processing of large volumes of information
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
