Sous Chef – Italian Cuisine

Location: Atlanta, GA
Job Type: Full-Time

About Us

We are a high-volume, chef-driven restaurant focused on authentic and modern Italian cuisine. Our kitchen emphasizes fresh ingredients, handmade pastas, classic techniques, and elevated hospitality. We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team and help maintain exceptional food quality and kitchen operations.

Position Summary

The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations, manage staff, maintain quality standards, and execute Italian dishes with consistency and precision. The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, and passionate about Italian cuisine.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of professional kitchen experience
At least 2 years in a leadership or sous chef role
Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine, including:
Pasta production
Sauces and stocks
Butchery and seafood preparation
Traditional and modern Italian cooking techniques
Experience in high-volume or fine dining environments preferred
Ability to lead and motivate kitchen staff
Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen organization
Excellent communication and time management skills
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Responsibilities

Assist the Executive Chef with daily kitchen management
Supervise line cooks and prep staff during service
Ensure consistency, presentation, and quality of all dishes
Help manage inventory, ordering, and food cost controls
Train and mentor kitchen team members
Maintain cleanliness and compliance with health regulations
Contribute to menu development and seasonal specials
