Full Job Description

Summary:

WOW In-Sync, Inc., a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization that offers day support services for adults with disabilities, is seeking an Advocacy and Support Manager to provide support and oversight in the coordination and administration of all programmatic aspects of WOW In-Sync.

The Advocacy and Supports Manager (ASM) provides oversight, coordination, and administration of WOW IN SYNC’s programs and services. The ASM serves as an advocate for persons served while ensuring compliance with DBHDD, CARF Accreditation standards, Medicaid Waiver requirements, and organizational policies. This position supports person-centered planning, intake and transitions, quality assurance, health and safety initiatives, program operations, billing functions, and continuous quality improvement efforts.

The ASM collaborates with leadership, QIDPs, Direct Support Staff (DSS), families, funding sources, and community partners to ensure high-quality services that promote independence, community inclusion, and positive outcomes for persons served.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Support team members to achieve personal goals by following their service plan and

health protocols:

Facilitate opportunities for team members to engage in activities in their community according to their interests and preferences
Participate in the person-centered planning process as requested by team members and/or members of leadership
Complete and submit all required documentation in a timely manner
Report any changes to a person’s health, behavior and/or functioning ability to members of leadership through observation reporting practices
Follow and implement all of WOW’s health and safety protocols and procedures
Support individuals in completing personal care as needed
Communicate positively and clearly with Leadership and coworkers

Health and Safety

Monitor participant health, safety, behavioral, and functional changes and ensure appropriate reporting and follow-up.
Provide training to Direct Support Staff regarding health, safety, risk management, and compliance requirements.
Prepare quarterly health and safety reports and recommend improvements based on outcome data.

Quality Assurance and Compliance of Person Served

Monitor participant records for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
Maintain documentation supporting internal audits and compliance reviews.
Collaborate with leadership, DDPs, QIDPs, and QA personnel to identify areas for improvement.
Develop and monitor corrective action plans when quality concerns are identified.
Participate in organizational continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities as Assigned: Curriculum and Training

The ASM should be able to function in the role as direct support as needed and required.

Minimum Qualifications

Must meet all qualifications for QIDP/DDP as outlined by DBHDD.
Bachelor’s Degree in:
Social Work
Psychology
Counseling
Behavioral Health
Healthcare Management
Human Services
Related field
Minimum one (1) year experience working with adults with developmental disabilities.
Knowledge of Medicaid Waiver programs and related funding sources.
Knowledge of CARF Accreditation standards preferred.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and electronic record systems.
Valid Georgia Driver’s License.
Must meet organizational driving requirements.
Must pass national criminal background screening.
Must be at least 25 years of age.

Physical Requirements

Ability to travel within the community and transport participants as needed.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
Ability to provide direct support services when necessary.
