Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in sushi preparation, food safety, and fine dining to create authentic and visually stunning sushi dishes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase culinary expertise in a vibrant restaurant environment dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences. The Sushi Chef will be responsible for menu planning, food preparation, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi dishes with precision and artistry, ensuring consistency and quality.
Plan and develop sushi menus that align with restaurant standards and customer preferences.
Handle all aspects of food preparation, including slicing fish, preparing rice, and assembling rolls with expert knife skills.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards throughout all kitchen activities.
Manage ingredient inventory, order supplies as needed, and ensure freshness of all ingredients used in sushi preparation.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service during busy hours while maintaining high standards of presentation.
Assist in training junior kitchen staff on sushi techniques, food handling, and safety procedures.
Ensure the cleanliness of workstations and proper storage of ingredients following health regulations.

Qualifications

Proven experience in sushi preparation, fine dining, or related culinary fields within the food industry.
Strong knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation standards.
Excellent knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques specific to sushi cuisine.
Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus.
Experience in menu planning, catering, or food service is desirable.
Previous restaurant or kitchen experience with a focus on food safety and quality control.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
