Full Job Description

Key Account Manager

Seattle, WA

This biotechnology company was founded to commercialize a urine based liquid biopsy diagnostic test for prostate cancer, developed from a genomic discovery made at a top accredited university from which the company was spun out. The company is CLIA certified and is hiring a Key Account Manager to manage sales and business development within a defined territory, partnering with physicians and healthcare facilities to promote its diagnostic offerings.

Schedule

Field based role, traveling approximately 50% of the work week, with 90% of working time spent in the field within the assigned territory.

Compensation

$230,000 - $250,000 Per Year

What You'll Do

The Key Account Manager manages day to day sales operations within a defined geography, applying scientific concepts throughout the sales process and interfacing regularly with sales colleagues across the country. This person provides accurate territory forecasts, including precise monthly numbers broken down by physician, and interfaces with sales, marketing, CLIA lab scientists, operations, and the executive team. The role includes offering timely responses to incoming requests from customers, patients, providers, and partners, and maintaining a focus on process improvements for efficiency and customer experience. This person partners with lab operations on launches, conferences, and process improvements, and effectively manages relationships with existing clients to drive growth and meet or exceed territory goals. The role requires leveraging company resources such as marketing materials, speaker programs, and regional trade shows, maintaining an accurate travel and expense budget, and demonstrating accountability for administrative tasks including CRM utilization and weekly reporting. This role works with protected health information (PHI), and the employee will complete HIPAA and PHI training upon hire. The role requires the ability to lift boxes and hand deliver test kits to physician offices.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree
5 to 10 years of experience selling into physician offices and healthcare networks
Strong history of documented sales achievements
Ability to build trusted relationships with senior level healthcare professionals
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and deliver high impact messages to customers and senior executives
Experience negotiating with and influencing diverse groups including employees, colleagues, vendors, clients, and agencies
Experience and proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Ability to travel up to 50% of the work week
Ability to lift boxes and hand deliver kits to physician offices
Ability to analyze performance trends and operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities
Ability to analyze issues for root cause and resolve them at the source
Experience with PHI or willingness to complete HIPAA and PHI training upon hire

Preferred Qualifications

Previous sales experience in urology or diagnostics
Background spanning clinical labs, marketing, and sales teams
