Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for dealership employees
-
Calculate commissions, bonuses, and payroll adjustments

Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing

Reconcile payroll, bank, and general ledger accounts

Reconcile employee-related general ledger accounts, including employee accounts receivable, 401(k), payroll liabilities, and other employee benefit accounts

Prepare payroll-related journal entries and accounting reports
-
Coordinate with Human Resources regarding employee changes and benefit deductions
-
Review accounting records for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
-
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
-
Maintain organized accounting records while ensuring confidentiality

Respond to employee payroll inquiries

Support the Controller and accounting team with daily operations

Other duties as assigned

Previous accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll experience required

Automotive dealership accounting experience preferred but not required

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Experience with dealership management software (Automate preferred) is a plus

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, and drug screening
Work Conditions & Physical Requirements

Office-based position in a fast-paced dealership environment with frequent interdepartmental interactions

Standard business hours with occasional overtime during month-end or reporting cycles

Primarily sedentary work with prolonged sitting and computer use

Manual dexterity for data entry and office equipment

Occasionally required to lift or move office supplies or records weighing up to 25 lbs
