We are seeking a skilled line/prep cook to assist with preparation of high-quality sandwiches, salads, and soups in a fast-paced environment. The individual will help ensure that the food our guests receive is of exceptional quality. This position manages a small staff. A proven record of attention to detail, adherence to food safety standards, creativity and the ability to work collaboratively within the kitchen is required. Duties
- Prepare ingredients and workstation for a restaurant's kitchen, ensuring all items are chopped, portioned, and ready for use during service. Key duties include washing, slicing, and storing food items, and preparing sauces and dressings, while following health and safety guidelines.
- Work on the line under the guidance of the Savory Manager, preparing menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest quality and in a timely manner.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of kitchen station, as well as end-of-day cleaning
- Maintain workspace cleanliness and organization, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving and storing deliveries.
- Manage line operations in Savory Manager's absence.

- Previous experience as a prep cook, sous, or similar role in a high volume kitchen. Minimum of one year experience but more will be an advantage
- Early mornings - shifts typically begin between 7-9, but may occasionally start as early as 4:30AM when covering for the Savory Manager. We close at 4PM, so there are no evening shifts.
- Open availability Tue-Sat. We are closed Sunday & Monday.
- Must be able to commit to working every Saturday, occasional holidays, and frequent day-before and day-after holiday. For example, availability is required for the day before Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, etc. We are closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter days.
- Must be able to commit to a long-term role
- Must be open to training and to a friendly-but-firm "yes chef" approach
- A record of reliability in past positions (we will check!)
