Full Job Description

Senior CNC Machinist / Programmer

Location: Denver, CO
Company: CO-Innovate LLC

CO-Innovate LLC is a fast-growing product development and contract manufacturing company specializing in aerospace, fitness technology, and high-end automotive components. We design, prototype, and scale production for a wide range of advanced products where precision, quality, and innovation are critical.

We are seeking a Senior CNC Machinist/Programmer who thrives in both the shop and the design room. This role is ideal for an experienced machinist who not only enjoys running multi-axis CNC machines but also wants to contribute directly to product development and grow into a shop management role as our company scales.

At this time we can support a part time employee that would transition to full time once products begin production.

Key Responsibilities

Program, set up, and operate multi-axis CNC swiss type lathes (dual spindle, live tool, Y-axis) and Hurco CNC mills. (no Haas machines in our shop).
Develop and optimize Fusion 360 CAM programs to achieve efficient cycle times, tool life, and surface finish.
Collaborate closely with the engineering team on new product development, providing feedback on manufacturability, design for machining, and prototyping.
Translate concepts into production-ready processes: tooling, fixturing, setup sheets, and quality documentation.
Troubleshoot machining challenges across a range of materials including titanium, aluminum, and stainless steels.
Apply aerospace machining practices (tight tolerances, GD&T, traceability, AS9100 standards).
Contribute to the development of shop workflows, documentation, and best practices.
Mentor junior machinists and prepare to step into a leadership/shop manager role as operations expand.

Qualifications

7+ years of CNC machining/programming experience with lathes and mills.
Expert with Hurco WinMax milling controls and Fanuc-based lathe controls.
Strong proficiency in Fusion 360 CAD/CAM.
Hands-on experience with multi-axis turning centers (sub spindle, Y-axis, live tooling).
Proven ability to bridge engineering design and manufacturing execution.
Background in aerospace machining and high end job shop strongly preferred.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Background

Engineering or design experience (ex-engineer, product designer, or similar).
Comfort in prototype and small-batch machining environments.
We don't do much job shop work, but must be able to rapidly set up to support work.
Experience developing machining standards, process flows, and documentation.
Strong interest in taking ownership of the shop and growing into Shop Manager.
