Full Job Description

Description:

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Shipping Clerk Lead to support our growing distribution operation. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth flow of shipments in and out of our facility while providing reliable administrative support to the shipping department. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of shipping logistics and documentation, excellent data entry skills, and the flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Core Responsibilities:

Oversee the accurate processing of inbound and outbound shipments, including preparing and managing all associated documentation such as Bills of Lading, shipping labels, and Advance Shipping Notices (ASNs).
Perform SAP transactions related to shipping, inventory movement, and material handling.
Serve as a primary point of contact for drivers checking in/out of the facility, ensuring timely communication and coordination with internal departments, customers and carriers.
Ensure shipment details are entered with precision into relevant systems.
Communicate with logistics providers, customers, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues.
Provide day-to-day administrative support to the shipping team including assisting with scheduling of pickups/deliveries, and coordinating with customer service as needed.
Occasionally support the shipment preparation by warehouse associates to ensure adherence to shipping protocols.
Train and evaluate the performance of shipping department staff, providing coaching to maintain operational standards and efficiency.
Prepare and present regular reports on shipping activities and performance metrics to management.
Manage frequent production schedule changes, delegate priorities, and ensure team upholds shipment deadlines.
Work with cross-functional teams, including procurement and customer service, to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.

Skills and Qualifications:

Proven ability to multi-task without sacrificing accuracy and maintain high standards of attention to detail in all aspects of the role.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Check drivers in/out
Process/Send ASN’s per customer requirements
Process shipping/receiving documents
Prepare shipping documents for LTL shipments
Additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

· Two years experience in shipping office

· Intermediate computer skills

· Solid work history

· Team Player

Overtime as needed

Preferred Candidate:

· Familiar with SAP or similar software management systems

· Flexible schedule
