About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assurance Manager to join our growing public accounting firm. This role is ideal for a CPA with extensive experience serving construction and real estate clients and managing review engagements. The Assurance Manager will lead engagements, supervise staff, build strong client relationships, and help deliver exceptional client service while maintaining the highest professional standards.

Required Qualifications

Active CPA license (Required)
Minimum of 3 years of direct experience performing construction review engagements in a public accounting environment
Strong working experience with QuickBooks (Required)
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and applicable professional standards for review engagements
Experience managing multiple engagements simultaneously while meeting deadlines
Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and develop staff
Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting/audit software

Preferred Qualifications

Experience serving construction and real estate industry clients
Audit experience in public accounting (Preferred)
Experience with contractor financial reporting, work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, percentage-of-completion accounting, retainage, and surety reporting
Familiarity with internal controls and financial reporting for closely held businesses
Experience reviewing partnership, S corporation, and closely held business financial statements

Key Responsibilities

Plan, manage, and oversee construction review engagements from planning through issuance
Ensure engagements are completed efficiently and in accordance with applicable professional standards
Review financial statements, disclosures, and engagement workpapers for accuracy and completeness
Evaluate work-in-progress schedules, revenue recognition, retainage, and other construction-specific accounting matters
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by serving as a trusted advisor
Supervise, coach, and mentor staff accountants and seniors while reviewing their work
Coordinate engagement timelines, budgets, and staffing to ensure deadlines are met
Identify opportunities to improve client processes and provide value-added recommendations
Collaborate with firm leadership on client service initiatives and business development opportunities
Stay current on accounting standards and industry developments affecting construction and real estate clients
