Full Job Description

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Life Safety Systems Designer for an Onsite position with a Global Professional Services Firm located in Portland, OR or Austin, TX or Fort Worth, TX or Pittsburgh, PA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

We are looking for a Life Safety Systems Designer who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our client's business, including semiconductor manufacturing, data center facilities, and other state-of-the-art manufacturing and research facilities. You will be part of a vibrant, dynamic team that delivers world-class designs for well-known clients, performing computer-aided drafting and design of Life Safety and Security Systems for advanced facilities.

Responsibilities:

Deliver complex packages in coordination with multi-discipline engineers and design leads
Utilize AutoCAD and Revit MEP to create a 3D model space in coordination with architects and engineers
Design Security Surveillance, Access Control and Intrusion detection systems from 3D BIM models
Perform calculations, apply NFPA and ICC codes, and other standards to model content
Specify equipment at the direction of the engineering staff

Requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent
At least 3-5 years of AutoCAD experience (preferably Revit experience)
Systems design experience with Security Surveillance, Access Control and Intrusion detection systems
NICET Security certification
ASIS International Advanced Security Worldwide
Manufacturer's equipment certifications

Desired skills:

3-5 years of systems design experience
Knowledge of IFC, IBC, NFPA 70, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, and NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signaling Code
Knowledge of Security systems and manufacturer's equipment
Industrial design experience

Pay Range: up to $60.09 per hour
