Full Job Description

About the Role

Visiting Angels is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and highly organized Training & Retention Coordinator to join our Austin team. This position plays a critical role in supporting our caregivers throughout their employment journey from onboarding and training to engagement, retention, and ongoing support.

The ideal candidate is passionate about people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys building strong relationships with caregivers while ensuring compliance with company policies and state regulations. Experience in home care, healthcare, caregiving, or employee relations is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Caregiver Training & Onboarding

Coordinate and facilitate caregiver orientation and onboarding programs.
Ensure all new hires complete required training and onboarding documentation.
Assist caregivers with understanding company policies, procedures, and expectations.
Support ongoing training initiatives and continuing education opportunities.

Employee Retention & Engagement

Lead caregiver retention efforts through regular communication, recognition programs, and engagement initiatives.
Conduct caregiver check-ins and follow-up conversations to identify concerns and improve employee satisfaction.
Partner with leadership to develop strategies that improve caregiver retention and reduce turnover.
Assist in resolving caregiver concerns while maintaining a positive and supportive work environment.

Compliance & Personnel Administration

Process and monitor pre-employment requirements, including background checks, references, licensing, certifications, and other required documentation.
Maintain accurate and compliant employee files and records.
Track critical compliance deadlines, including caregiver credentials, annual requirements, and continuing education.
Assist with corrective action documentation, coaching conversations, and employee performance tracking.

Recruitment Support

Serve as a backup resource for recruiting activities when needed.
Participate in job fairs, community outreach events, and caregiver recruitment initiatives.
Help attract qualified caregivers through creative sourcing and referral programs.

Team Collaboration

Work closely with Operations, Scheduling, Recruiting, and Leadership teams to support caregiver success and client satisfaction.
Assist with special projects and administrative functions as needed.
Support office initiatives that promote a positive workplace culture and exceptional caregiver experience.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative, human resources, employee relations, training, or healthcare support role.
Previous experience in home care, healthcare, staffing, senior care, or a related industry preferred.
Caregiver, CNA, HHA, or direct care experience is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Detail-oriented with strong documentation and follow-through skills.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business software applications.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
Self-motivated, proactive, and solutions-oriented.
Participation in an after-hours on-call rotation will be required, including rotating evenings and weekends. This may involve supporting caregiver-related concerns, assisting with urgent staffing needs, and providing operational support to ensure continuity of care for our clients.
