Full Job Description

Job Overview

The National Director - Electrical Programs serves as an enterprise electrical subject matter expert and strategic leader for the organization's electrical education portfolio. This individual provides the technical vision, industry expertise, and program leadership that ensures the electrical offerings remain relevant, innovative, and aligned with evolving workforce and employer needs across campus education, online learning, and employer-sponsored training.

Working collaboratively with curriculum development, instructional technology, professional development, campus leadership, operations, employer partnerships, and instructional teams, the National Director helps shape the future of the electrical programs by guiding technical standards, advising on curriculum innovation, supporting scalable Program Playbooks, and promoting consistent instructional excellence across every delivery channel.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Enterprise Electrical Leadership

Provide strategic leadership and technical direction for the electrical education portfolio.

Responsibilities include:

Serve as the organization's senior electrical subject matter expert across campus, online, and employer-sponsored training.
Guide the long-term vision and continuous evolution of the electrical portfolio to meet changing industry and workforce demands.
Monitor emerging technologies, codes, regulations, certifications, and industry trends to ensure programs remain current and workforce relevant.
Partner with executive leadership to identify opportunities for program growth, innovation, and market differentiation.
Represent Education facility with employers, advisory boards, industry associations, and strategic partners as the technical voice of the electrical discipline.

2. Program Innovation & Technical Standards

Partner with cross-functional teams to develop scalable, high-quality educational products and enterprise standards.

Responsibilities include:

Collaborate with curriculum and instructional design teams to ensure technical accuracy, workforce alignment, and instructional relevance across electrical programs.
Guide the development and continuous refinement of standardized Program Playbooks, instructional resources, laboratory activities, competency models, assessments, and technical documentation.
Provide technical recommendations for laboratory design, equipment, instructional environments, and implementation standards that support consistent delivery across campuses and employer training sites.
Advise on instructor qualifications, technical competencies, certifications, and instructional expectations that promote excellence across the organization.
Support the development of new programs, stackable credentials, specialized training offerings, and employer-focused workforce solutions that respond to market demand.
Evaluate emerging technologies, equipment, and instructional approaches that enhance learner engagement and operational scalability.

3. Employer & Industry Engagement

Strengthen employer partnerships by aligning educational programs with workforce needs.

Responsibilities include:

Partner with Business Development and employer partnership teams to support the design of customized workforce solutions.
Participate in employer meetings as the technical subject matter expert to understand workforce challenges and identify educational opportunities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with industry leaders, contractors, manufacturers, and advisory partners to ensure program relevance.
Translate employer needs into recommendations for curriculum enhancements, technical training, certifications, and instructional resources.
Support the development of scalable B2B training offerings that reflect current industry practices and future workforce requirements.

4. Instructional Excellence & Continuous Improvement

Support consistent, high-quality instructional delivery across the enterprise.

Responsibilities include:

Partner with Campus Leadership to promote consistent implementation of enterprise program standards.
Collaborate with the Director of Campus Curriculum & Program Innovation to ensure technical excellence across instructional materials and learning experiences.
Work closely with the Director of Professional Development & Quality Assurance to support instructor readiness, technical coaching, and instructional best practices.
Contribute technical expertise to faculty onboarding, instructor development, and professional learning initiatives.
Participate in program reviews, site visits, and continuous improvement efforts by providing technical recommendations that strengthen instructional quality, laboratory experiences, and workforce alignment.
Promote a culture of safety, innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the electrical discipline.

Enterprise Leadership

As the enterprise leader for the electrical discipline, the National Director will:

Champion innovation and continuous improvement across electrical programs.
Promote standardized, scalable practices that support consistent learner experiences across all modalities.
Foster collaboration across curriculum, operations, professional development, instructional technology, employer partnerships, and campus leadership.
Serve as the technical advisor for new educational products, laboratory modernization, and employer-sponsored initiatives.
Help shape the future direction of the Education Group's electrical education portfolio through strategic leadership, industry engagement, and technical expertise.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Technical Education, Construction Management, Workforce Development, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in commercial, industrial, mission-critical, utility, or workforce electrical environments.
Demonstrated expertise in commercial and industrial electrical systems, including low-voltage and medium-voltage installation, testing, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, electrical safety, and quality practices.
Experience supporting technical education, apprenticeships, workforce development, employer-sponsored training, or instructor development.
Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, applicable electrical codes, regulatory requirements, and industry-recognized certifications.
Demonstrated success collaborating across multidisciplinary teams and building strong relationships with employers, instructors, and operational leaders.
Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence through technical expertise rather than direct authority.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting mission-critical infrastructure, industrial construction, manufacturing, utilities, or data center environments.
Experience with electrical commissioning, startup, energization, QA/QC, or operations.
Experience developing or delivering technical workforce education or employer training.
Familiarity with NCCER, NFPA, OSHA, NETA, NICET, ETA, or similar industry credentials.
Experience working with EPC contractors, electrical contractors, owner/operators, or large industrial employers.
