Full Job Description

SUMMARY

The Business Developer is responsible for developing and fostering business and client relationships to drive business growth. Represents the company and its products to clients and generates orders and subsequent revenue for the company. Locates, qualifies, and closes sales opportunities to drive business forward.

This position will represent the San Antonio-Austin Area

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Represent Garden Design as a top competitor for landscaping needs in the construction commercial industry.
Identify, attract and develop a network of contacts within the assigned territory or market.
Build and maintain trust-based relationships with clients.
Develop solutions for client issues.
Oversee projects by ensuring a smooth transition between sales and production after project handoff.
Meet specific measures to close business.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Identifies and develops new relationships with Property Managers, Developers, Facility Directors, and other potential clients through networking and all viable channels.
Responds promptly to inquiries and seeks out and calls upon potential clients to identify their needs for products and services and works closely with client and company personnel to fill those needs.
Serves as the interface between company and client to ensure customer satisfaction objectives are met.
Responsible for executing presentations and proposals to clients.
Researches and develops new concepts and new ways of promoting existing services.
Presents proposal documents and closes sales-generating revenue.
Forecasts sales volume and profitability for assigned scope of responsibility as requested; compiles statistics and completes reports and other documentation as required.
Additional responsibilities as assigned by the direct manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 5 years of experience working in landscaping construction.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a sale, consulting, account management or similar client-relationship role.
Must be familiar with all aspects of the Landscape industry, including sales, production, customer service, and estimating.
Must be able to negotiate and provide excellent customer service.
Able to meet with clients off-site as needed.
Must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Possess intermediate computer skills.
Must be organized with a focus on details.
