Join Our Team: Showroom Design Consultant and Project Manager

We’re seeking a driven, creative, and customer-focused Design Consultant and Project Manager to join our fast-paced, collaborative team. In this role, you'll combine your design sensibility, project management skills, and sales insight to guide clients through the process of turning their vision into reality.

You’ll be instrumental in maintaining AGD’s reputation as Austin’s premier destination for residential and commercial natural stone, quartz and porcelain surfaces. From concept to completion, your ability to manage details, communicate effectively, and deliver exceptional service will set you apart.

Responsibilities Showroom Design Consultation & Sales

Welcome clients in the showroom and guide them through material selections for countertops and surfaces.
Understand client design goals and provide tailored recommendations based on drawings, template measurements, and project scope.
Educate clients on the benefits, features, and maintenance of natural and engineered surfaces (e.g., natural stone, quartz, porcelain).
Prepare and present accurate estimates and proposals based on measurements and client preferences.
Serve as the primary point of contact from initial consultation through final installation, ensuring a seamless and responsive customer experience.
Build and maintain relationships with designers, builders, contractors and vendors to support sales and project success.
Maintain showroom presentation, sample inventory and record project information.
Stay informed on industry trends and product innovations to deliver expert guidance and stay competitive.

Project Management

Coordinate with fabrication and installation teams to ensure projects meet specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and material selections before production.
Conduct or coordinate site visits, field measurements, and templating as needed.
Track project progress, communicate updates, and resolve issues proactively.
Manage all project documentation in Oracle NetSuite, ensuring accuracy and organization across all phases.
Oversee scheduling, logistics, and team handoffs to ensure smooth and timely project delivery.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in sales, project management, or customer service within the design, construction, or home improvement industry.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects from start to finish.
Ability to read architectural plans, construction drawings, and template measurements.
Working knowledge of countertops, surface materials, or fabrication processes is preferred.
Proficiency in estimating, quoting, and project management software. Experience in Oracle NetSuite software is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with clients.
A problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage client expectations and adapt to changes.
Experience with design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar) is a plus.
Interior design background, interest or degree is preferred.
Capable of learning new computer software platforms.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment.
