Program Manager – Federal Healthcare Staffing

Wander Staffing LLC
Austin, Texas (Hybrid – In Office M–W)

Position Overview

Wander Staffing is seeking a Program Manager to execute and oversee our portfolio of federal healthcare staffing contracts. This position manages the day-to-day performance of awarded contracts and ensures that Wander Staffing consistently delivers exceptional service to our Government customers and Prime partners.

The Program Manager will serve as the program's operational leader responsible for contract performance, deliverables, customer engagement, and workforce management across multiple healthcare staffing programs.

This role works directly with senior leadership and collaborates closely with recruiting and finance teams to ensure successful contract execution and continued company growth.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Performance & Customer Relations

Serve as a primary operational point of contact for Government customers, Prime contractors, and facility leadership
Ensure all contract requirements, deliverables, and reporting obligations are met accurately and on time
Monitor and manage Quality Assurance Surveillance Plans (QASP) across assigned contracts
Proactively engage with CORs, KOs, and facility chiefs to maintain strong relationships and support high CPARS ratings
Identify potential performance issues early and implement corrective actions when necessary

Program Management

Oversee contract execution, including staffing coverage, compliance requirements, and operational coordination
Maintain organized records of contract documents, performance metrics, and operational reporting
Track key operational metrics and ensure program stability and continuity

Workforce Management

Support field staff and independent contractors across assigned contracts
Manage operational issues such as schedule coordination, call-outs, vacation requests, and staff concerns
Work closely with finance teams to ensure accurate timekeeping and payroll support
Coordinate with recruiting leadership to address vacancies and staffing needs

Internal Coordination

Collaborate with recruiting leadership to maintain adequate staffing pipelines
Coordinate with finance and payroll to ensure smooth contract administration
Maintain operational systems and documentation using company platforms

Strategic Leadership

Provide feedback and insight to the leadership team on operational improvements
Identify best practices to improve customer satisfaction, workforce retention, and program efficiency
Contribute to the continued growth and operational maturity of the company
Potential to supervise and mentor subordinate Program Managers responsible for individual contracts

Experience

2+ years experience in program management, operations, or contract management
Experience supporting federal government contracts strongly preferred
Experience managing geographically distributed teams or field personnel preferred
Healthcare staffing or healthcare operations experience highly desirable

Skills

Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable engaging with senior government personnel and stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Technical Skills

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint)
Experience with workflow or operational platforms (Airtable, Paycom, SAM.gov, or similar systems preferred)
Familiarity with document management and collaboration tools

Work Environment

Austin, TX based role with hybrid work schedule
Current team schedule: Monday–Wednesday in office

Reporting Structure

Reports directly to the VP of Operations and Growth
Potential to eventually supervise additional Program Manager(s)

Compensation and Benefits

· Range $75,000-$95,000

· Salary commensurate with experience

· PTO, Medical Benefits, and 401k

· Flexible work environment allowing for 2 days of remote work

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
