Job Summary

A growing public accounting team in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Tax Manager-MPA for a direct hire, onsite opportunity supporting complex tax compliance and advisory work. This role is ideal for an experienced tax professional with a strong background in public accounting, pass-through entity taxation, tax-basis accounting, partnership capital accounts, and S Corporation AAA tracking.

The Senior Tax Manager-MPA will work closely with internal finance teams, external advisers, clients, and developing tax professionals to ensure accurate tax reporting, strong compliance processes, and well-documented tax records. This opportunity offers the chance to join a stable, collaborative professional services environment with supportive leadership, meaningful client interaction, and opportunities to mentor others while continuing to grow as a tax leader.

Candidates who enjoy complex tax structures, technical research, client service, and leadership within a team-oriented accounting environment will find this role both challenging and rewarding.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage tax compliance engagements for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, trusts, and pass-through entities.
Maintain tax-basis balance sheets, income statements, partnership capital accounts, tax capital, shareholder basis, partner basis, and S Corporation Accumulated Adjustments Account records.
Prepare and review tax workpapers, book-to-tax adjustments, reconciliations, and complex federal and state tax returns.
Research and analyze complex tax matters to support compliance, planning, tax-saving opportunities, and audit-ready documentation.
Forecast interim and year-end tax liabilities while collaborating with internal finance teams, external advisers, and client stakeholders.
Train, mentor, and support junior tax professionals while delivering responsive, high-quality client service.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $75,000 to $100,000 per year.
Employment type: Direct hire, full-time.
Work location: Onsite in Austin, TX.
