Interim Director of Nursing (DON, RN) – Travel SNF Leadership

We’re hiring experienced Interim Directors of Nursing (DONs) who can walk into Skilled Nursing Facilities with confidence, stabilize operations, support overwhelmed teams, and help buildings regain momentum during times of transition.

What You’ll Be Doing

Interim DON Leadership

Step into SNFs during leadership vacancies, leaves, surveys, or organizational transitions
Stabilize nursing operations and support facility leadership teams
Assess staffing, workflows, and clinical systems quickly
Provide visible, hands-on leadership throughout the building

Clinical Oversight & Survey Readiness

Oversee resident assessments, care planning, and clinical documentation
Ensure compliance with CMS and Minnesota Department of Health regulations
Support infection prevention and quality assurance initiatives
Prepare facilities for surveys, audits, and inspections

Team Development & Staff Support

Mentor ADONs, nurse managers, and floor nurses
Help improve morale, accountability, and communication
Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts
Lead with professionalism, empathy, and consistency

Operational Improvement

Identify gaps in care delivery and nursing operations
Implement corrective action plans and best practices
Partner with Administrators and leadership teams to improve outcomes

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

Active Minnesota RN license in good standing
Previous DON or ADON experience in Skilled Nursing
Strong understanding of SNF operations, CMS, and MDH regulations
Ability to lead confidently in fast-paced or high-pressure environments
Willingness to travel throughout Minnesota

Preferred Experience

Previous interim or turnaround leadership experience
Multi-state RN license
Experience supporting underperforming or transitioning facilities
