Overview

Overview: We are looking for a medical billing specialist rockstar!

We are a growing medical practice focused on preventive, primary, and longevity care. Located inside a premier fitness facility in Austin, Texas, we provide comprehensive, patient-centered care that emphasizes prevention, wellness, and personalized treatment.

Our practice has traditionally operated as a cash-pay clinic, and we are now expanding into a hybrid model by offering insurance-based primary care and same-day/express care services. We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing & Revenue Cycle Specialist to help build and manage this new aspect of our practice.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys creating efficient systems, solving billing challenges, and helping a growing practice succeed. We are currently a low-volume clinic with significant growth potential, making this an excellent role for someone looking to grow professionally and take on increasing responsibility over time.

Responsibilities

Manage the complete medical billing and revenue cycle for insurance-based primary care and acute care visits.
Submit accurate electronic claims to commercial insurance carriers.
Review documentation to ensure accurate coding and appropriate reimbursement.
Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes in accordance with current coding guidelines.
Monitor claim status and resolve denied, rejected, or unpaid claims in a timely manner.
Verify patient eligibility and insurance benefits prior to appointments.
Post insurance and patient payments accurately.
Work closely with providers to improve documentation and coding accuracy.
Ensure compliance with payer policies, HIPAA regulations, and billing best practices.
Identify opportunities to improve billing workflows, reimbursement, and operational efficiency.
Assist in developing and refining billing processes as the practice continues to grow.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of experience in outpatient medical billing, preferably in primary care, family medicine, urgent care, or internal medicine.
Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and Evaluation & Management (E/M) coding.
Experience working with commercial insurance plans, claim submission, appeals, and denial management.
Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR/EMR) and medical billing software.
Thorough understanding of revenue cycle management and insurance reimbursement processes.
Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with providers and staff.
CPC, CPB, or similar coding/billing certification is preferred but not required.
