Position Summary
LEAD, GROW, AND EXPAND GEOTECHNICAL SERVICES IN TEXAS
Foresight is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing team in a highly visible, client-facing leadership role. We’re looking for someone who is equally passionate about delivering high-quality technical work and building strong client relationships.
In this role, you’ll lead complex infrastructure projects while playing a key role in growing our geotechnical practice across Texas, developing client partnerships, identifying opportunities, and helping win new work. You’ll take ownership of relationships, contribute to business strategy, and directly impact the expansion of our services, all while working alongside a collaborative, forward-thinking team to shape technical direction, mentor staff, and serve as a visible representative of Foresight in client meetings, industry events, and project pursuits.
Roles and Responsibilities
Client Engagement and Business Development
- Proactively build and strengthen client relationships, identify opportunities, and position Foresight to win and expand work across Texas.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for key clients, including federal, state, local, and private sector partners.
- Identify, pursue, and help win new businesses opportunities, including preparing proposals, responding to RFQs/RFPs, and participating in interviews and presentations.
- Maintain and expand relationships with existing clients through consistent communication, high-quality service delivery, and proactive problem-solving.
- Represent Foresight in industry events, conferences, and client settings to enhance visibility, expand market presence, and , strengthen relationships.
- Leverage your professional network and industry presence to generate leads, support pursuits, and contribute to strategic grown initiatives.
Technical Leadership
- Lead the strategy, planning, and delivery of geotechnical engineering projects, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with industry standards.
- Develop geotechnical analyses and design recommendations for slope stability, foundations, retaining walls, and subgrade stabilization.
- Oversee field investigations and supervise the review and preparation of geotechnical reports, boring logs, and laboratory data summaries.
- Set and uphold technical standards to ensure quality and consistency across all deliverables through peer reviews and technical audits.
Project Mangement
- Oversee project scopes, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction.
- Direct project tasks, monitor progress, and allocate resources to ensure timely, high-quality, and cost-effective delivery.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including roadway, structural, and environmental engineers, to integrate geotechnical solutions into broader project designs.
- Manage subcontractors and drilling crews, ensuring safety, efficiency, and data quality.
- Track project performance metrics and prepare internal and client-facing reports.
Team Development and Mentorship
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, providing technical development and career growth.
- Lead internal training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen team capabilities.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and inclusive team culture that values innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Contributions
- Contribute to the development and refinement of internal standards, procedures, and best practices for geotechnical engineering.
- Support leadership in identifying emerging trends, technologies, and market opportunities.
- Assist in long-term planning and growth for Foresight’s geotechnical services.

Eductation, Licensure, and Certifications
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Texas (required).
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a closely related field (required).
- Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering (preferred).
- Pre-certification in TxDOT Geotechnical Engineering, Roadway Design, Hydraulic Design, Construction Management, and/or Materials Testing and Inspection work categories (preferred).
Expereince
- 15+ years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on public infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience managing public infrastructure projects, including familiarity with applicable design criteria, specifications, and deliverables.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage project budgets and schedules, and deliver high-quality technical work.
- Experience in business development, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and securing new contracts.
- Experience with plan and constructability review and recommendations.
Technical Expertise
- Proficiency in geotechnical engineering software, including but not limited to: MSEW, Slope/W, Slide, PLAXIS, SHAFT, APILE, LPILE, GROUP, SNAIL, Goldnail, gINT, OpenGround, and RSLog, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical investigation methods, laboratory testing, and field instrumentation.
- Experience with FWD, GPR, DCP, and other evaluation tools and data interpretation (preferred).
- Experience with CAD , GIS, LiDAR, and/or InSAR preferred.
- Experience in pavement design and with pavement engineering software, including FPS21, DARWin, TxCRCP-ME, WinCore, or similar tools, is preferred.

Job Location
This role can be located in either Central Texas or DFW Metroplex Area.
Travel Requirements
Less than 25% travel is expected to attend project meetings and conferences at various locations throughout Texas. Periodic site visits may also be required, involving standing and walking outdoors on uneven terrain in varying weather conditions and the proper use of PPE (steel-toe boots, hard hat, reflective vest, gloves, eye protection).
Physical Requirements
This role is primarily office-based and aligns with U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) standards for professional/administrative work. Duties require extended sitting, computer use, reading, and participation in meetings, with occasional standing or light lifting of standard office materials. Base Salary Range
$150,000+ per year (commensurate with experince)
