Project Coordinator (Contract)

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid; Local Candidates Preferred)

Engagement Type: Contract

Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours

Work Arrangement: Mostly remote with occasional onsite presence (approximately 1 day per week as needed)

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, ongoing basis without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future

Background Requirement: Must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) background check

We are seeking an entry-level Project Coordinator to support project managers across multiple initiatives. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who enjoys organization, coordination, and keeping teams on track. The Project Coordinator will focus on task tracking, follow-ups, and stakeholder coordination; helping ensure project activities move forward smoothly.

This is not a Project Manager role. Instead, this position supports project managers by assisting with day-to-day coordination, communication, and accountability across project teams.

Key Responsibilities

· Support assigned Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination activities

· Track tasks, action items, and deliverables to ensure timely completion

· Follow up with team members and stakeholders to confirm progress and remove blockers

· Assist in driving accountability across project teams by tracking action items and following up on assigned tasks

· Assist with meeting coordination, agendas, notes, and follow-up communications

· Maintain project documentation, trackers, and status updates

· Support reporting needs related to project milestones, timelines, and task completion

· Assist with general administrative and coordination duties related to project execution

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree (or near completion) in Business, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field

· Must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) background check upon hire.

· Internship experience supporting projects, IT teams, or business operations required

· Basic understanding of technology concepts (must be comfortable working in an IT environment)

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

· Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with team members at various levels

· Comfortable managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously

· Willingness and ability to work onsite in Austin as needed

Preferred Qualifications

· Exposure to project coordination, project management, or PMO environments

· Familiarity with task tracking tools, spreadsheets, or basic project documentation

· Experience supporting projects in a government, healthcare, or large enterprise environment

· Strong follow-through skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset
