Full Job Description

Director of Operations – Workforce Lodging / Multi-Site Portfolio Operations

Position Summary:

A growing workforce lodging and asset-intensive services platform is seeking a Director of Operations to serve as the senior operational leader over a multi-project portfolio. This role will be responsible for managing projects from planning through delivery and operational readiness, ensuring each site is executed on time, on budget, and in alignment with company standards.

This is not a traditional single-site operations role or a pure construction project management position. The ideal candidate will sit at the intersection of portfolio operations, project execution, vendor and partner management, facilities/camp operations, and brand-standard development.

The Director of Operations will oversee project scope, budgets, schedules, quality, safety, vendor performance, partner coordination, and launch readiness. This individual will also lead and direct project managers responsible for subcontractor coordination, vendor execution, and field delivery across multiple workforce lodging projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the operational execution of a multi-project workforce lodging portfolio from planning through delivery and launch readiness.
Oversee project scope, budgets, schedules, milestones, quality expectations, safety requirements, vendor performance, and operational outcomes.
Direct and support project managers responsible for coordinating subcontractors, vendors, construction partners, service providers, and field execution teams.
Hold design, construction, operating, and service partners accountable for meeting business requirements, service expectations, and delivery standards.
Develop and enforce project governance, reporting cadences, dashboards, project controls, and decision-making rhythms.
Identify project risks early and drive practical corrective action to keep timelines, budgets, and deliverables on track.
Translate the business model into repeatable operating standards, playbooks, checklists, partner requirements, and launch-readiness processes.
Ensure each workforce lodging site delivers a consistent customer, guest, and operator experience.
Partner cross-functionally with internal leadership, external partners, vendors, field teams, and service providers to ensure execution excellence.
Travel regularly to project and operating sites to assess progress, resolve issues, and ensure standards are being met in the field.

Required Experience:

Senior operations, project delivery, facilities, construction operations, lodging, workforce housing, remote accommodations, camp operations, or multi-site service leadership experience.
Experience managing multiple projects, sites, or locations at the same time.
Demonstrated experience overseeing budgets, schedules, vendors, subcontractors, field teams, and external operating partners.
Strong project controls discipline, including budget oversight, scope management, change control, schedule adherence, cost-to-complete reporting, and risk management.
Experience leading project managers, field leaders, vendors, subcontractors, or third-party service providers.
Ability to build scalable standards, processes, checklists, operating models, and reporting structures.
Willingness and ability to travel regularly to project and operating sites.

Preferred Background:

Workforce housing, remote lodging, man camps, industrial accommodations, energy, mining, or field-based housing operations.
Construction operations, design-build, modular construction, site development, or facilities buildout.
Facilities management, integrated services, or multi-site service delivery.
Hospitality, extended-stay lodging, resort, camp, or large-scale lodging operations with strong project execution experience.
Build-to-rent, multifamily, student housing, military housing, or distributed real estate operations.
Food service, housekeeping, maintenance, or service delivery platforms operating through regional teams, vendors, and field leaders.

Compensation:

Competitive executive compensation package, including base salary and performance-based bonus. Total compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Location & Travel:

Flexible U.S. location / hybrid structure with regular travel to project and operating sites.
