Full Job Description

Based in Indianapolis, Catalyst is a plastic design and development company offering design & engineering, prototyping, in-house tooling options, and low-to-mid volume injection molding and contract assembly. We strive to find goal-oriented individuals who are focused on customer service and project success.

Catalyst is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to develop and optimize CNC machine programs and processes, contributing to new product introductions and driving continuous quality improvements. In this role, the candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical support to machinists, ensuring efficient and accurate manufacturing operations. Your expertise in CAM software and machining strategies will be crucial in enhancing our production capabilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Craft CNC programs from engineering drawings and models to enable precise machining operations of plastic injection molds and components
Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize programs and resolve any process or quality-related challenges
Select appropriate tooling, considering speeds, feeds, and machining strategies to maximize efficiency and quality
Develop and maintain comprehensive setup sheets and documentation to ensure consistent and repeatable processes
Identify and implement improvements to CNC programs and machining processes to boost quality, efficiency, and throughput
Assist machinists on new tools, parts, processes, and programs, facilitating smooth transitions from development to production

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of CNC programming in relevant industry with experience in machining and building of plastic injection molds.
Proficiency with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, GibbsCAM, Fusion 360, Cimatron).
Experience programming multi-axis CNC machines.
Experience programming Mitsubishi Wire and Sinker EDM a plus
Strong understanding of tooling selection and machining strategies for various materials.
Knowledge and basic ability to use 3D CAD software (Solidworks, etc.)
Knowledge and ability to read 2D drawings and documentation.
Ability to use measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, depth gages, etc.
Strong problems solving ability and troubleshooting skills.
Basic computer skills to interact with data files and programming.
Ability to lift 25+ lbs throughout work shift.
