Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Oral Surgery Assistant to join our dynamic oral surgery team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations within our practice, providing exceptional support to both our doctor and patients. This position requires a blend of technical skills and interpersonal abilities to create a positive experience for our patients while assisting in various oral surgery procedures.

Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and ready for use.
Take dental radiographs (X-rays).
Maintain accurate medical records, including patient histories, treatment plans, and progress notes while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Manage patient appointments- scheduling follow-up visits.
Post-treatment care instructions.
Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
Monitor vital signs as required during procedures.
Utilize dental software for treatment planning and scheduling.
Assist in the operation of intraoral impression systems when necessary.

Experience

Previous experience in dental and/or oral surgery assisting is preferred but not mandatory; we welcome candidates eager to learn.
Familiarity with dental imaging techniques and the ability to take accurate vital signs is advantageous.
Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and oral surgery is beneficial for effective patient care.
Proficiency in managing medical records with a strong understanding of HIPAA regulations is essential.
Experience with dental software systems will be considered a plus.
