Bookkeeper (Contract Position)

Job Summary

TRICO ELECTRIC is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our fast-paced construction office.

This position begins as a 1099 contract position only. It is intended as an evaluation period and is not an immediate employee position. Candidates who demonstrate strong performance, reliability, and are a good fit for the company may be offered a full-time employee position following the evaluation period.

The ideal candidate must have at least 2–3 years of hands-on experience with QuickBooks, bookkeeping, and Microsoft Excel. The successful applicant will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced office.

Responsibilities

Manage all bookkeeping functions using QuickBooks
Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
Maintain accurate financial records
Prepare reports and spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel
Assist with payroll support and general office accounting
Answer phones and communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and employees
Schedule travel, hotels, and appointments
Organize office records and maintain filing systems
Perform additional office duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2–3 years of QuickBooks experience (Required)
Minimum 2–3 years of bookkeeping experience (Required)
Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Required)
Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Comfortable working in a fast-paced construction office
Reliable transportation
Available to work Monday through Friday

Preferred Qualifications

Construction industry experience
Bilingual (English/Spanish)

In Person – Azle, TX

Important Information

Monday–Friday schedule
1099 contract position during the evaluation period
This is not an immediate employee (W-2) position
Candidates who successfully complete the evaluation period may be offered a full-time employee position

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
