Full Job Description

Progressive Technologies is a Low Voltage systems installer operating on data center projects nationwide. We are currently seeking experienced network installers that are willing to travel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Technician works as a professional member of the project team primarily responsible for enhancing overall jobsite productivity, safety and quality. Safety is always the number one priority.

Strong command of the English language is essential for client interactions and internal communication between the field team and trade partners.

Working knowledge of telecommunications network structure in a commercial construction setting including familiarity with copper and fiber optic cable, splice enclosures, and the functionality of each. Experience with backbone splicing, termination labeling, and dressing in a workman like manner.

Experience to effectively and efficiently use a variety of fiber equipment including but not limited to a Fluke Tester, UniCam equipment, OTDRs and fusion splicing equipment.

The ability to effectively troubleshoot when issues arise and a can-do attitude to find solutions.

Ability to read fiber matrices, telecom drawings, network architecture, and shop drawings.

Must be able to lift over 50 lbs. and be able to use hand tools, ladders, and scissor lifts.

Knowledge and Skills

Current fiber certification required. BICSI or Corning Preferred.
3 years’ experience with copper such as CAT5/6 and Fiber (SM and MM)
A minimum of OSHA 10, OSHA 30 is a plus
Basic computer skills and ability to navigate windows office suite programs.
EXFO OTDR knowledge and EXFO OLTS testing knowledge.
Ability to listen carefully to and follow instructions.
Ability to navigate Microsoft office suite programs and upload testing documents.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 – 56 per week
