Computational Physics Expert – AI Trainer

Job Summary

In this role as a Computational Physics Expert supporting AI Training and evaluation initiatives, you will apply your expertise in computational physics, scientific computing, numerical simulation, and data analysis to help improve next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world scientific knowledge and advanced physics problem-solving.

This is an hourly-paid contract opportunity, not a traditional research, laboratory, or academic position. Contributors will work on project-based AI training and evaluation tasks while collaborating remotely with distributed teams in a flexible work environment. No prior experience in AI is required — your physics expertise is what matters.

Key Responsibilities

Leverage deep expertise in computational physics to support AI training, benchmarking, and evaluation initiatives.
Analyze, interpret, and synthesize complex scientific datasets, simulations, and experimental results.
Contribute to AI training and evaluation projects through scientific reasoning tasks, response reviews, technical assessments, and benchmarking workflows.
Develop, review, and refine quantitative models, simulations, and computational workflows across relevant physics domains.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve AI model capabilities in scientific reasoning, quantitative analysis, and technical problem-solving.
Apply advanced numerical methods and computational techniques to evaluate real-world physics scenarios and model outputs.
Document findings and communicate complex scientific concepts clearly in both written and verbal formats.
Maintain high standards of scientific rigor, accuracy, and integrity across all project deliverables.

Required Skills and Qualifications

PhD in Physics or a closely related field, or equivalent industry/research experience demonstrating advanced expertise.
Strong background in computational physics, scientific computing, numerical simulation, or simulation-intensive research.
Proficiency in programming languages and scientific computing tools such as Python, C++, MATLAB, ROOT, or similar technologies.
Experience working with numerical simulations, Monte Carlo methods, high-performance computing (HPC), or large-scale computational workflows.
Strong analytical, quantitative, mathematical, and scientific reasoning abilities.
Demonstrated experience in experimental analysis, computational research, or scientific data interpretation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly and effectively.
Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment while maintaining high-quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

Background in particle physics, astrophysics, plasma physics, fusion energy, condensed matter physics, quantum systems, or related advanced research areas.
Experience applying AI, machine learning, or data-driven methodologies within scientific or engineering environments.
Familiarity with scientific benchmarking, model evaluation, validation methodologies, or technical assessment frameworks.
Track record of published research, patents, conference presentations, or significant contributions to scientific literature.
Experience reviewing technical content, developing assessments, or contributing to AI model evaluation projects.
Familiarity with AI training-related workflows and scientific benchmarking methodologies is a plus.
