Full Job Description

Position Summary:
The Program Manager provides essential support to participants in achieving independence by assisting with adaptive skills, social skills, or job-related tasks in community and work settings. This role supervises direct support professionals, coordinates participant service plans, ensures compliance with health and safety protocols, and serves as a primary contact for participants, families, and service providers. Additionally, the Program Manager plays a critical role in participant progress evaluation, staff training, and documentation to meet regulatory standards.

Job Responsibilities:

Coach and assist participants with daily living, hygiene, grocery shopping, assist with tracking and scheduling medical and prescription appointments, social interaction, emergency responses, and accessing appropriate social activities.
Train participants on work-site protocols, appropriate social behavior, and personal responsibility.
Conduct site visits and audits to ensure participant safety and adherence to Individual Service Plans (ISP).
Train, schedule, and supervise Direct Support Professionals (DSP), providing feedback and addressing performance improvement.
Lead monthly staff meetings, oversee shift scheduling, and assist with onboarding new hires.
Evaluate and support DSP performance through regular check-ins and monitoring.
Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and Job Training Plans.
Facilitate and attend quarterly, semi-quarterly, and/or annual review meetings for participant progress.
Complete and submit required documentation accurately and on time, including payroll notes, data entry, vehicle inspections, and program reports.
Ensure participant safety at all times, including during community outings and in transportation.
Follow health and safety plans, medication protocols, and implement crisis management as needed.
Protect and uphold participant confidentiality consistently.
Reviews the Sandis report monthly to ensure all authorizations are current. Contacts Kern Regional Service Coordinators if assistance need with obtaining an authorization.
Is responsible for ensuring payroll notes are corrected and submitting payroll for DSP’s.
Interviews potential new hires for DSP positions.
Maintain and update the participant(s) information including demographic, address, point of contact, and annual intakes as required.
Is responsible for scheduling and facilitating work schedules including the call-out and shift change policy and all other day to day staffing issues.
Provides support to DSP in a crisis situation either via phone or in-person, as needed.
Provides support to the DSP to ensure objectives are met in accordance with the Individual Service Plan.
Completes and submits all required documentation to direct supervisor in accordance with deadlines determined by the Director/Program Facilitator.
Provides Director/Facilitator with feedback and data relevant to the participant’s progress and staff performance
Meets with the Facilitator, Behavior Specialist, BCBA Clinical Director and Program Director as needed for supervision.
Creates, trains, implements, and provides programming for skill acquisition and behavioral management.
Provides participant transportation in an insured personal or company vehicle.
Assists participants with budgeting while on community outings.
Follows all policies and procedures as outlined in VAC handbook.
Maintain close proximity to participant at all times while assigned to a participant.
Implement VAC techniques and approved methods of intervention for participants maladaptive behavior(s).
Maintain a professional and objective relationship with participants, parents, VAC vendors, supervisors, other employees, and any other stakeholders.
May work with a variety of participants within the Autism Spectrum or with other Developmental Disabilities.
Complete daily assigned job responsibilities at the beginning or end of shift as required.
Hosts zoom activities for participants that aren’t participating with on-site activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

At least 6 months’ experience providing direct care services to adults with developmental disabilities.
1-year supervisory experience preferred.
Utilize time management techniques and ability to work independently
Ability to follow goals and objectives established for each participant.
Ability to work any shift as required by the supervisor or the participants needs.
Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) with students, parents, VAC vendors, supervisors, other employees, and other stakeholders.
Ability to work as a team, and independently without direct supervision; actively participate and collaborate with other team members.
Knowledge of crisis management techniques preferred.
Ability to maintain composure, remain objective, demonstrate sound judgment and react effectively in challenging situations.
Flexible and adaptable to client, program, and organizational changes.
Exhibits a positive, solution oriented and motivating demeanor at all times.

Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required (all programs).

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift 60lbs without assistance.
Frequent squatting, sitting, walking, standing, bending and twisting, kneeling, crawling, climbing.
Occasional running, pushing and pulling, reaching above and below shoulder level.
Regular exposure to excessive noise levels.
Walking and running on uneven surfaces.
Regular exposure to outside elements, including excessive heat, direct sunlight, cold, wind or rain.

Certificates:

Valid Driver’s License and evidence of insurability.
CPR/First Aid certification, preferred
Completion of behavior modification or crisis management training upon hire.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
