Full Job Description

Overview

As One, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist to serve as the primary Human Resources resource for our growing organization.

This is a senior-level, hands-on HR position designed for an experienced professional who is comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day Human Resources operations while also helping leadership strengthen HR systems, processes, compliance, and workforce practices as the organization grows.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable advising leadership on a complex employee relations matter and personally managing onboarding documentation, HRIS records, compliance tracking, recruitment, and other administrative HR responsibilities.

This position is best suited for someone who enjoys doing the work, improving the work, and helping determine how the work should be done.

Can provide leadership with thoughtful HR guidance while remaining approachable and responsive to employees.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & HR Support

Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and leadership regarding workplace concerns, policies, performance, and employee relations matters.
Conduct workplace investigations and provide recommendations based on findings.
Coach supervisors regarding employee relations, performance management, corrective action, and policy application.
Prepare and administer corrective actions, performance improvement plans, and related documentation.
Support employee benefits administration, enrollment, and employee education.
Promote a professional, accountable, and employee-centered workplace culture.

Recruitment, Onboarding & Workforce Support

Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, offers, and hiring coordination.
Partner with leadership to identify current and anticipated staffing needs.
Coordinate and conduct onboarding, orientation, and new hire processes.
Maintain accurate employee records, personnel documentation, and HRIS information.
Support employee retention, engagement, and workforce planning initiatives.

Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including wage and hour laws, leave management, and applicable healthcare or social service regulations.
Maintain compliance with Title 17, Title 22, Community Care Licensing (CCL), and other regulatory requirements as applicable.
Conduct HR audits and maintain audit-ready personnel and compliance records.
Monitor employee training compliance, certifications, and required documentation.
Assist leadership with policy development, implementation, and updates.

HR Operations & Organizational Development

Maintain and administer HRIS records and HR reporting.
Support benefits administration and employee benefit questions.
Partner with payroll and operations regarding timekeeping, attendance, overtime, meal/rest period compliance, and payroll-related matters.
Track workforce data such as turnover, staffing trends, training compliance, and employee relations activity.
Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, workflows, documentation, and organizational systems.
Perform administrative HR responsibilities necessary to maintain an accurate, compliant, and responsive Human Resources function.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with meaningful responsibility for employee relations and compliance.
Strong working knowledge of California employment law and wage and hour requirements.
Demonstrated experience independently handling workplace investigations, corrective actions, and employee relations matters.
Experience managing multiple areas of HR rather than specializing in only one function.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to independently prioritize competing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Confidence communicating with employees, supervisors, and senior leadership.
Strong judgment, discretion, problem-solving ability, and follow-through.
Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on administrative responsibilities.
Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
Experience in healthcare, social services, developmental disability services, residential care, or multi-site operations is preferred.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
Experience with BambooHR or similar HRIS platforms is a plus.
