Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are a privately-owned Optometric practice and optical store seeking a motivated, dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Assistant to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care in an a face-paced vision and medical setting. This position involves assisting doctors with various clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth workflow, and maintaining high standards of patient interaction and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Assist with patient intake, including gathering medical history and conducting preliminary assessments.
Measure and record vital signs accurately to ensure comprehensive patient evaluations.
Provide support during eye examinations and diagnostic tests, ensuring patients are comfortable and informed.
Maintain and manage medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
Operate electronic medical record (EMR) systems, including Epic, to document patient information efficiently.
Collaborate with the front desk staff to manage appointments and assist with retail sales of optical products as needed.
Willingness to cross train in other aspects of the practice and optical store.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a medical office setting or clinic is preferred; experience in ophthalmology is a plus.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care.
