A Brief Overview
Coordinates and oversees office and technical operations within Methodist Le Bonheur Community Outreach (MLCO) teams to support the medical and community workers to achieve positive outcomes for patients/clients. Performs a variety of administrative, technical and financial activities to ensure office operations runs smooth and efficiently. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in The Methodist Mission, Vision and Values.

What you will do

Manages and maintains comprehensive data platforms used to report on program outcomes and effectiveness for MLCO programs.
Manages and screens all referrals made to assigned MLCO programs.
Responsible for scheduling, monitoring, and follow-up of patients/clients in assigned programs.
Coordinates and maintains an efficient office operation and performs administrative and finanical duties of a moderately complex and confidential nature.
Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.

Education/Formal Training Requirements

Required - High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience Requirements

Required - Database management 3-5 years
Preferred - Administrative or clerical 3-5 years
Preferred - Office coordination 3-5 years

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office program (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and/or SPSS or Minitab.
Must have excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to effectively calm patients/clients and be able to deal with distressed and/or agitated patients/clients and their families.
Proficient with standard report writing tools such as Crystal reports, Business objects, Penolope and Redcap.
Ability to analyze and interpret data to assist decision making.
Ability to understand and compose moderately complex written materials.
Ability to work without close supervision, exercise independent judgment, and communicate effectively with staff where tact, diplomacy, and good judgment are essential.
Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude.
Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize duties/tasks.
Ability to initiate communication with patients/clients, their families and hospital visitors.
Knowledge of medical insurances (Medicare, HMO’s, PPO’s, commercial), EMTALA regulations, hospital billing and collection process and /or grant processes, invoices and deliverables.
Ability to motivate and influence people.

Supervision Provided by this Position

There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position

Physical Demands

The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
Must have good balance and coordination.
The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
