CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT (CNA)

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for a compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team. The ideal candidate is committed to providing exceptional care, enjoys working in a collaborative environment, and is passionate about improving the patient experience. This position works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care and support daily nursing operations.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and mobility.
Measure and record vital signs, height, weight, and intake/output as directed.
Assist patients with ambulation, transfers, positioning, and range-of-motion exercises.
Observe and promptly report changes in patient condition to the licensed nurse.
Answer patient call lights promptly and respond to patient needs with compassion and professionalism.
Maintain patient rooms by ensuring cleanliness, safety, and organization.
Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Collect specimens and perform routine patient care tasks as delegated.
Document patient care activities accurately and timely in the electronic medical record, when applicable.
Follow infection prevention protocols and hospital safety policies.
Promote patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT

Current Louisiana Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within the required timeframe.
Previous hospital, long-term care, or healthcare experience preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong observation and organizational abilities.
Compassionate, dependable, and committed to delivering outstanding patient care.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A fast-paced inpatient healthcare environment caring for patients with a variety of medical needs.
Twelve-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating schedules based on departmental needs.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and assisting with patient transfers throughout the shift.
Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and other healthcare-related hazards; appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided.
Ability to safely lift and reposition patients using proper body mechanics and patient handling equipment.
Must successfully complete all pre-employment requirements, including a background check, drug screen, and any applicable health screenings.
