Full Job Description

Normandy Remodeling is looking for a person with experience in designing, drafting and purchasing high-end custom kitchens to join our team of Architectural Kitchen Specialists.  The Kitchen Specialist is responsible for the development of construction documents for custom kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects, utilizing AutoCAD.  If you are looking for an established and stable company that's customer focused, design driven, and quality first, then Normandy is the place for you.

As one of the largest residential design/build firms in the country, Normandy Remodeling creates additions, kitchens, and extensive renovations throughout Chicagoland. As a member of our architectural drafting team, you will work closely with our Designer/Salespeople to craft construction documents based on provided designs, and partner with our Superintendents who are ultimately responsible for building the project.

Your role as an Architectural Drafter will include:

Drafting kitchen and bathroom floorplans and elevations, as well as the assembly of specifications 
Working closely with designers to provide feedback and suggestions to ensure the project meets the customer's needs and provides maximum value to their home
Identifying potential design issues/challenges and proposing practical, effective solutions
Cabinet pricing and order processing
Providing detailed, accurate construction drawings that allow for a successful build by our tradespeople

The person we're looking to add to our team should have:

Proficiency in AutoCAD, experience with 2019LT is a plus
Chief Architect experience is a plus
Experience in high-end custom kitchen and bathroom design
A deep understanding of NKBA design guidelines
Must possess a strong technical understanding of appliance specifications and the ability to effectively read, interpret, and apply them to ensure accurate fit and installation  
Excellent communication skills
High attention to detail, specifically cabinet construction and installation considerations

This is hybrid work position, requiring you to work in our Hinsdale Design Studio three days per week, with the flexibility to work from home two days per week.
