Full Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and patient-focused Medical and Nurse Assistant & Front Desk Patient Coordinator to join our team. This hybrid role combines both clinical and administrative responsibilities, ensuring seamless patient care from check-in to examination. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling front desk duties, while also assisting providers with patient care in a clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities

Front Desk & Administrative Duties (Patient Coordinator Role)

Greet and check in patients, verifying insurance and demographic information.
Collect co-pays, process payments, and assist with billing inquiries.
Schedule patient appointments, follow-up visits, and manage provider calendars.
Answer phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and coordinate referrals.

Clinical Duties (Medical and Nurse Assistant Role)

Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document medical history in the EMR system (Tebra).
Prepare exam rooms and assist physicians with procedures as needed.
Administer allergy testing, hearing tests, and other in-office procedures as directed.
Perform diagnostic tests such as spirometry and skin testing.
Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up instructions.
Communicate patient information to physicians, nurse practitioners, or registered nurses.
Advise patients about their condition and treatment plan.
Assist physicians during patient examinations.
Assist in inventory management and stocking of medical supplies.
Follow infection control protocols and ensure exam rooms are sanitized between patients.
Assist with obtaining clinical information to complete prior authorizations for procedures and specialty drugs.

Qualifications & Skills

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. MA certification
Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, Front Desk Coordinator, or a related role in a healthcare setting. Experience working in an allergy/ENT setting is preferred but not required
Technical Skills: Familiarity with electronic medical records (Tebra/Kareo preferred), insurance verification, and basic medical procedures.
Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and multitasking abilities. Must be detail-oriented, professional, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Commute: Ability to commute to St. Charles clinic with occasional travel to other area clinics in Carol Stream and Elgin
Bilingual candidates preferred but not required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
