Full Job Description

Department: Operating Room
Type: Travel Contract
Contract Duration: 12 Weeks (August 9, 2026 – November 1, 2026)
Start Date: ASAP / August 9, 2026
Pay Rate: $51
Schedule: Full-Time (36 Hours per Week)
Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Tuesday–Thursday)
Weekend Rotation: None
On-Call: None

About the Role

MedOp Solutions is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse for a 12-week travel assignment. This opportunity is ideal for an OR nurse with strong orthopedic, general surgery, and robotic surgery experience who thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment.

The ideal candidate is a skilled circulator with experience supporting complex surgical procedures while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and perioperative care.

Department Information

The Operating Room performs a wide variety of surgical procedures utilizing advanced technology and a multidisciplinary surgical team.

Surgical Specialties Include

Orthopedic Surgery
General Surgery
Robotic Surgery (Da Vinci)
Additional specialty procedures as assigned

Key Responsibilities

Provide circulating nursing care for surgical procedures
Prepare operating rooms and surgical equipment
Maintain a sterile environment throughout procedures
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and perioperative staff
Monitor patient safety before, during, and after surgery
Perform accurate surgical documentation
Ensure compliance with infection prevention and perioperative standards
Support robotic-assisted surgical procedures utilizing the Da Vinci system

Qualifications

Required

Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room experience
Experience with:
- Orthopedic Surgery
- General Surgery
- Da Vinci Robotic Surgery
Current CPR/BLS Certification
Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing standards and sterile technique

Technology & Equipment

Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System
Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Advanced surgical equipment
Standard operating room instrumentation

Scheduling & Expectations

12-week assignment
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday schedule
12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
No weekend requirement
No on-call responsibilities
Holiday coverage as needed
30-minute unpaid lunch break required
Biweekly payroll
