Positive Beginnings Inc. is a dedicated special education preschool serving children ages 3 to 5 years in the area. Our centers are conveniently located and focus on providing nurturing, inclusive environments tailored to meet the developmental needs of children with special needs and their families.

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Clinical Coordinator to join our team! In this vital role, you will oversee clinical operations within our preschool, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, managing medical documentation, and supporting staff and families. Your energetic approach will help foster a safe, organized, and supportive environment for our young learners and staff alike.

Duties

Coordinate medical services, including medication administration, health assessments, and care plans for children.
Review and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA and other confidentiality policies.
Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth to ensure seamless documentation review and data entry.
Verify insurance coverage, process billing claims, and handle insurance verification procedures related to healthcare services.
Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure adherence to medical coding standards including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 codes for billing and documentation purposes.
Assist with clinic scheduling, patient intake procedures, and front desk support using multi-line phone systems and office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix when applicable.
Support compliance with health information management policies and clinical confidentiality regulations while maintaining excellent customer service standards.

Experience

Prior experience in a clinical coordination role within a healthcare or educational setting is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth.
Familiarity with medical billing processes including CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), Medicare procedures, and insurance verification.
Experience working in a pediatric or clinic environment is advantageous.
Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation and reporting tasks.
Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse families and staff members.
Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and clinical confidentiality policies.
