Full Job Description

Overview

HMTX is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support the Senior Finance Manager and assist with all day-to-day accounting functions.

The ideal candidate is a recent college graduate with an accounting degree who is eager to learn, highly organized, analytical, and capable of handling multiple responsibilities in a growing company environment.

Duties

General Accounting

· Prepare and record daily journal entries.

· Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.

· Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes.

· Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.

· Review transactions for accuracy and proper accounting treatment.

· Assist with preparation of internal financial reports.

Accounts Payable

· Process vendor invoices accurately and on time.

· Verify invoices against purchase orders, receiving documents, and approvals.

· Prepare payment requests and maintain payment records.

· Communicate with vendors regarding invoices, statements, and payment inquiries.

· Assist with vendor account reconciliations.

Accounts Receivable

· Generate customer invoices and maintain accurate billing records.

· Monitor customer payments and outstanding balances.

· Follow up on overdue accounts and assist with collection efforts.

· Apply cash receipts and maintain accurate customer records.

Cash Management

· Assist with cash flow tracking and reporting.

· Monitor daily banking transactions.

· Prepare bank deposits and maintain cash records.

Payroll Support

· Assist with payroll preparation and payroll-related reconciliations.

· Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation.

· Ensure payroll transactions are properly recorded.

Financial Reporting

· Assist in preparing monthly financial statements.

· Support budgeting and forecasting activities.

· Prepare financial analysis and management reports as needed.

· Assist with variance analysis, cost tracking, and operational reporting.

Compliance and Audit Support

· Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.

· Assist with annual audit and tax preparation activities.

· Support compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards.

· Assist with regulatory reporting requirements as needed.

Administrative and Cross-Functional Support

· Support accounting document management and record retention.

· Assist with accounting software maintenance and data accuracy.

· Collaborate with Operations, Logistics, Purchasing, HR, and Management teams.

· Participate in process improvement initiatives.

· Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.

· Provide support in accounting, finance, human resources, purchasing, and general administrative functions. The successful candidate must be willing to take on a broad range of responsibilities and contribute wherever needed to support business operations.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
