Overview

***WE ARE HIRING IMMEDIATELY*** Three Rivers Settlement Services, Inc., (located at 2605 Nicholson Road, Suite 2201, Sewickley, PA 15143) is an established real estate closing company and agent of First American Title Insurance which serves the greater Pittsburgh area by performing residential and commercial real estate closings. We are looking for a part-time bookkeeper to help with accounting, bookkeeping, financial and administrative tasks. This is either an in-person role or hybrid (partially remote) role with some office attendance required on a weekly basis. The ideal candidate will be capable of efficiently and accurately performing accounting and bookkeeping tasks with minimal supervision and oversight. This is a great opportunity for a retired or partially-retired accountant or bookkeeper to have a flexible work schedule and perform important work. Training will be provided for specific software and processes.

Responsibilities

Maintain and update financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks
Use Title Express (TSS) to input financial information
Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately
Print and distribute checks
Assist with financial reporting and accounting-related tasks
Assist with payroll processing and paying vendors
Monitor banking activity
Work seamlessly with our escrow processing department to ensure real estate closing escrows are disbursed in accordance with company procedures
Utilize spreadsheets and other financial software tools for data analysis, reporting, and record keeping
Ensure compliance with company practices
Must be vigilant against phishing attacks, scams, and other suspicious activity

Qualifications

Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles
Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online) and similar systems
Proficient knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation
Familiarity with payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliation, and general ledger management
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to perform reconciliation consistently
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and support organizational financial goals

Strongly Preferred

Prior experience in the real estate industry, with prior experience at real estate closing company or similar company highly preferable
Familiarity with real estate closing processes and procedures and industry terminology
Prior experience working at a law firm, financial institution or similar professional services company
Prior experience with Title Express (TSS) and its related software products

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
