Since 2017, the company has leveraged its software development expertise and expanded its drone design and manufacturing capabilities through ZenaDrone to innovate and enhance customer inspection, monitoring, safety, security, compliance, and surveying processes. ZenaTech serves over 100 enterprise software customers in law enforcement, government, and industrial sectors, with drones used in agriculture, defense, and logistics industries. The company has offices in North America, Europe, and the UAE.

We are seeking qualified CAD Technician to join our growing team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with multi-disciplined engineering and design teams to develop civil layout drawings in a 3D model environment.

As a CAD Technician, you will play a key role in designing and drafting plans and construction documents for a wide range of projects—including commercial, industrial, and residential developments, as well as public works and infrastructure improvements. Projects typically involve grading, roadway geometry, erosion control, drainage systems, utility design, and quantity calculations.

This is a full-time, on-site role in Beaverton, OR.

Key Responsibilities

Create detailed civil layout drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Carlson Software
Generate profiles, alignments, surfaces, pipe networks, and construction details
Interpret and apply engineering plans, notes, and specifications
Collaborate with engineers to ensure model accuracy and drafting standards are met
Utilize Carlson Software tools for land surveying, topographic data, and surface modeling
Handle complex design and drafting tasks independently with minimal supervision
Produce clear technical manuals describing project features, operations, and maintenance
Review and verify engineering drawings for compliance with specifications and standards
Communicate effectively with staff, clients, local jurisdictions, and project consultants
Maintain productivity in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Qualifications

Strong understanding of civil engineering and surveying design processes
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, with solid experience in 3D modeling
Practical experience using Carlson Software for land surveying and civil design
Skilled in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Ability to create accurate models and drawings from verbal and written specifications
Familiarity with construction document standards and engineering terminology
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Education & Experience

Associate's degree or higher in drafting, design, or a related field
5+ years of experience in civil/survey CAD drafting
AutoCAD: 5+ years
Civil 3D: 3+ years
Carlson Software: 2+ years
