Full Job Description

Advantage Working Solutions is seeking a Employment Specialist to assist individuals with disabilities. In this position you will work as a Employment Specialist assisting clients in finding and obtaining employment and as a Job Coach working alongside clients while they are on the job. You will help them to successfully overcome barriers and become independently able to maintain stable employment. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with and helping others, while comfortably able to manage varying job duties. This position assists clients in Beaverton, Hillsboro and Forest Grove and will include weekend shifts. The position requires prior related experience (see below), GED or high school diploma, 18 years of age or older, reliable transportation and a clean background check. Employment Specialist Duties:

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)

Works with a team and coordinates, develops, implements, and monitors individualized service plans and/or employment search strategies to assist client in achieving employment goals.
Assesses skill level and vocational strengths.
Assists client in identifying and resolving work barriers; suggest accommodation and modification.
Provides vocational guidance and identifies community resources for clients.
Provide hands-on training, supervision and support to participants at a variety of work locations.
Prepares timely, objective, and measurable reports and documents such as service plans, goal plans, assessments, summaries, evaluations, and billing documents.
Negotiates service delivery with funding agencies and other business associates.
Remains current on area employment climate.
Explain and demonstrate tasks and work with individuals in a variety of tasks to ensure the individual understands job duties, and all tasks are completed
Assesses participant skills, abilities and limitations
Performs type of work supervised. May work a variety of shifts and locations, including weekends or evenings.
Ensures all paperwork and related activities are current, accurate and in compliance.
Work with staff to develop, monitor and resolve skills training, vocational or behavioral issues.
Assist with placing participants in competitive employment
Transport via personal vehicle
Carries small caseload on a limited basis, as assigned
Serves as back up for other sites and may rotate periodically throughout a variety of job coaching positions
Use of a provided computer or tablet for data input using word processing and task management software
Maintain case notes

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, Must be at least 18 years of age
Current Oregon driver's license with a clean driving record and current insurance
Ability to pass a criminal history check

Required Experience (One of the following)

Six (6) months of prior experience working as a Job Coach or Job Developer OR
One (1) year of documented experience working with individuals with disabilities OR
Have one (1) year of human services related experience, such as economical disadvantages, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, disabilities, prevention, health, cultural competencies, or housing

Ability to accurately prepare reports, case notes and other record-keeping documents
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
Perform basic math functions
Comfortable with word processing software
