Full Job Description

Metro South Gymnastics Academy (MSGA) is looking for a Competitive Gymnastics Coach for our Girls Xcel Team Program:

Upper-level Xcel coach

We are seeking an energetic, highly organized individual who has a passion for not only coaching gymnastics but also teaching life lessons.We believe gymnastics is more than just a sport—it’s a foundation for life, teaching discipline, resilience, and confidence that extend far beyond the gym. This is exemplified by our motto: "Inspiring minds and muscles, with smiles and sweat."

We have a clean, safe and fun 10,000-square-foot facility specifically designed for not only our highly competitive team training but also our recreational and preschool gymnastics programs. It is conveniently located just off the town center of Canton, MA. We offer competitive pay based on experience, health and dental, and retirement plans with the opportunity to grow with our business.

Position Overview: This position will concentrate on coaching our Xcel Platinum and Diamond athletes. We seek an enthusiastic coach with a strong passion for the Xcel program and its benefits for all athletes. This role requires a commitment to excellence in the gym and a competitive spirit within the state. A strong emphasis on their progressions and skill development is essential to provide the excitement and encouragement that all Xcel athletes need as they advance through the upper levels.

Qualities We’re Looking For:

Detail-Oriented: Ability to focus on the small details that make a big difference in skill development and safety such as entries, finishes, flexibility, strength, shaping and foot work.
Knowledgeable: Strong understanding of gymnastics progressive techniques, rules, and regulations for the Xcel levels. Willingness to attend continued education opportunities and understand the importance of growth and leadership.
Focused: Ability to maintain concentration during training sessions, ensuring that athletes receive optimal instruction.
Supportive: Passion for fostering a positive and encouraging environment where athletes feel motivated to achieve their goals.

Professional: Maintain a polished appearance, represent MSGA with pride at all times, and exhibit polite and considerate behavior toward athletes, parents, co workers and others in the gym and at any outside facility during USAG events.
Team Player: Collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively with other coaches and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Coach gymnastics using proper progression techniques to enhance athletes' skills effectively. Focus on details.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes during training and competitions.
Develop and implement monthly lesson plans tailored to the needs of each group. Communicate these lessons each month with the head coach.
Attend and coach the team at competitions, providing support and guidance.
Maintain thorough communication with program leaders and head coaches regarding athlete progress and any concerns. And communicate all parent/guardian interactions or concerns with the head coach.
Take on additional responsibilities as assigned to support the overall success of the program.

Preferred Work Experience:

Familiarity with all Xcel requirements.
Experience in coaching team gymnastics.
Possess great spotting techniques.
Relevant work experience is necessary to fulfill all duties, coupled with a positive attitude and a strong desire to learn, grow, and contribute to a professional team environment.

CPR/First Aid Certifications

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
