Join Our Leadership Team

Tiger Sun Restaurant & Lounge is looking for a motivated, hands-on Sous Chef to work alongside our Executive Chef in leading daily kitchen operations. This is a leadership role for someone who enjoys developing people, maintaining high culinary standards, and helping build a positive, high-performing kitchen culture.

Position Summary

The Sous Chef assists the Executive Chef in overseeing all back-of-house operations, supervising staff, maintaining quality standards, supporting scheduling and training, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations during every service.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in managing daily kitchen operations.
Lead the kitchen in the Executive Chef's absence.
Supervise, train, and develop kitchen staff.
Assist with hiring, scheduling, and labor management.
Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards.
Monitor inventory, ordering, and food cost control.
Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and inspection-ready.
Support prep schedules, production planning, and operational communication.
Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications Required

Minimum 2 years of professional kitchen experience.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred

Previous Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager experience.
Experience with scheduling, inventory, and food cost management.
Experience hiring, training, and developing employees.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $42,000–$46,000 annually

Performance Bonus: Available based on annual KPI performance.

2 weeks PTO after successful 90-day probation
3 weeks PTO beginning Year 2
