Position Summary

The Account Executive is responsible for developing and managing customer relationships while growing freight opportunities within an assigned portfolio. This role combines sales, account management, and logistics coordination to ensure customers receive exceptional service throughout every shipment.

As the primary point of contact for your customers, you'll identify transportation needs, build freight opportunities, negotiate pricing, coordinate with our Carrier Sales team, and proactively communicate throughout the shipping process.

Success in this role comes from building trust, creating long-term partnerships, and consistently finding solutions that help our customers succeed.

What You'll DoBuild Customer Relationships

Develop long-term partnerships with new and existing customers.
Serve as the primary contact for customer transportation needs.
Understand each customer's business and shipping requirements.
Deliver exceptional service through proactive communication and responsiveness.

Grow Business

Prospect and develop new customer opportunities.
Generate freight through outbound sales activity, referrals, and relationship building.
Expand existing customer accounts by identifying additional shipping opportunities.
Consistently work toward monthly and annual sales goals.

Manage Freight

Quote truckload shipments while balancing competitiveness and profitability.
Coordinate with Carrier Sales to secure capacity.
Schedule appointments and ensure shipment details are accurate.
Monitor shipments from pickup through delivery.
Communicate shipment updates, delays, and resolutions with customers.

Drive Customer Success

Anticipate potential service issues before they become problems.
Resolve transportation challenges quickly and professionally.
Build confidence through consistent communication and follow-through.
Become a trusted logistics advisor for your customers.

Collaborate Across Teams

Partner with Carrier Sales, Operations, Tracking, and Leadership to deliver outstanding service.
Maintain accurate shipment information within our Transportation Management System (TMS).
Contribute ideas that improve processes and customer experience.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of experience in Third-Party Logistics (3PL)
Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
Ability to build and maintain professional customer relationships
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
Must be able to work in person at our Nashville, TN office
