Full Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to support procurement activities for the development and manufacturing of next-generation spaceflight systems. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced aerospace procurement professional who has purchased avionics, electronic components, or complex engineering hardware in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic sourcing, supplier management, RFQ/RFP development, contract negotiations, and aerospace manufacturing procurement.

Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end procurement activities supporting engineering, manufacturing, construction, and facilities projects.
Develop sourcing strategies and manage strategic supplier relationships.
Create and manage RFQs/RFPs, evaluate supplier proposals, and award business based on cost, quality, delivery, and technical requirements.
Perform detailed cost and price analyses to ensure best value.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, NDAs, terms and conditions, and change orders with suppliers.
Issue and administer fixed-price and cost-type purchase orders and contracts.
Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, quality, and contract compliance.
Resolve supplier issues involving delivery, invoicing, receiving, and performance.
Partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, and Facilities teams.
Participate in project planning meetings and provide procurement status updates.
Support procurement process improvements and supplier development initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
8+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience in manufacturing or aerospace.
Experience procuring avionics, electronic assemblies, or aerospace hardware, including items such as:
Electronic components (EEE)
Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs/PCBAs)
Harnesses & cable assemblies
LRUs
Sensors
Batteries
Antennas
Instrumentation
Engineering and testing services
Strong experience managing the full procurement lifecycle.
Experience developing RFQs/RFPs and evaluating supplier proposals.
Strong negotiation skills with suppliers and contractors.
Experience performing cost and price analysis.
Ability to manage multiple suppliers and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

Aerospace, defense, or space industry experience.
Experience with Costpoint, Coupa, or similar ERP/procurement systems.
Knowledge of FAR/DFARS or government procurement requirements.
Experience supporting construction or facilities procurement.
APICS, CSCP, CPM, or similar supply chain certification.
MBA or Master's degree.

Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who has purchased complex aerospace or electronic hardware, understands technical engineering requirements, and enjoys working cross-functionally to keep manufacturing and development programs on schedule. Experience supporting avionics, electronics manufacturing, defense, or high-tech environments will be highly valued.

Work Authorization: Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder), or otherwise legally authorized to work in accordance with applicable program requirements.

Pay: $45.00 - $70.00 per hour
