Full Job Description

SUMMARY OF WORK PERFORMED: Major responsibility is the growth and development of the Host Families Program throughout Western Washington. This involves the building of local networks of churches, referral partners, resource providers, and child-welfare partnerships. This position is responsible to grow and develop the Host Families program in a sustainable, reproducible manner and to duplicate the program model throughout other Olive Crest offices across region, as applicable. Responsible for representation of Host Families to Western Washington regional level leadership meetings. Provides supervision of, and support to Western Washington regional Host Families staff.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Network with local faith communities/churches/pastors/leaders to build partnerships and create Host Families ministry teams in churches.
Support faith community volunteer ministry leads as they develop, implement, and facilitate recruitment, mobilization, and support strategies for Host Family volunteers (host families, family coaches, and family friends).
Monitor and support intake and outreach activities of Host Families in such a manner that monthly, quarterly and annual program goals are met.
Provide group/individual supervision to Western Washington Host Families staff.
Network with regional community resource providers to strengthen referral base and resource network.
Responsible to ensure that program meets out-of-home care best practice standards, including accreditation standards, and funding guidelines.
Lead the planning and development of Host Families annual events (recruitment, funding, holiday, National Host Families program, etc).
Maintain current knowledge pertaining to Host Family approval process, recruitment, and training; continue professional development through seminars and conferences.
Participate in quality assurance/quality improvement activities including monthly internal Olive Crest progress reports and external National Host Families reports.
Develop, coordinate, and supervise volunteer teams to assist with tasks such as social networking, monthly communication newsletters, etc.
Assist Intake Coordinator with ensuring quality of client care: to plan, develop, and administer programs such that basic, developmental, and therapeutic needs of clients in care are met; comply with agency policies and procedures.
Under direction of supervisor and PNW Executive Director, implement agency policies regarding personnel and service issues, including hiring, supervision, training, and evaluation of staff. Monitor staff’s performance and efficiency.
Assist Intake Coordinator with decisions related to approval of Host Families homes, placement of children, transfers and terminations.
Responsible for public relations/Marketing including attending meetings, creating written materials (in collaboration with development staff), and building relationships with those involved in referral activity.
Program expansion:
Expand the referral base for at-risk families.
Expand the number of partnerships in faith community, and Host Families volunteers.
Expand the geographic reach of the program.
Expand funding support of Host Families through participating in and contributing to development activities
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or other management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following: Social Work; Social Welfare; Marriage, Family and Child Counseling; Child Psychology; Child Development; Counseling Psychology; Social Psychology; Clinical Psychology; Educational Psychology; or Education with an emphasis in counseling; or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of experience in a related field
Prior supervisory experience
Experience mobilizing large groups of volunteers.
Ability to manage your own schedule and to work autonomously.
Valid WA driver’s license and auto insurance required.
Must have a philosophy of support of the mission, vision, values, and statement of faith of Olive Crest.
