Full Job Description

Family Law Associate

Remote – Must be currently licensed in Washington State and available for court appearances in King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties

Are you a Family Law Associate looking to join a growing firm that provides the flexibility to work remotely, strong support, and the opportunity to manage meaningful cases from start to finish?

Our client is an established family law firm representing individuals through divorce, child custody, parenting plans, child support, spousal maintenance, property division, relocation, protection orders, and other complex family law matters. The firm is committed to providing responsive, compassionate representation while advocating strongly for its clients and their families.

This is a remote position, and candidates may live anywhere as long as they are currently licensed to practice in Washington State. Attorneys must be available to attend hearings, mediations, depositions, trials, and other in-person proceedings in King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of family law experience and is comfortable independently managing cases, advising clients through challenging situations, and advocating effectively both in and out of the courtroom.

Family Law Associate Responsibilities

Manage family law cases from initial consultation through resolution.
Advise clients regarding divorce, child custody, parenting plans, child support, spousal maintenance, property division, relocation, and protection orders.
Maintain consistent and compassionate communication with clients.
Draft pleadings, motions, declarations, discovery requests, settlement documents, and correspondence.
Conduct legal research and develop effective case strategies.
Represent clients at hearings, mediations, depositions, settlement conferences, and trials.
Attend in-person court proceedings throughout King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties.
Consult with prospective clients and clearly explain their legal options.
Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to manage filings, deadlines, hearings, and other important dates.
Take ownership of assigned cases and complete work accurately and within established deadlines.

Family Law Associate Qualifications

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
Active Washington State Bar license in good standing.
At least two years of family law experience.
Experience practicing in King, Snohomish, or Pierce County is preferred.
Experience handling multiple phases of family law cases, including pleadings, discovery, negotiations, hearings, and trial preparation.
Confidence appearing in court and advocating for clients.
Strong legal writing, research, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines with strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while remaining connected to the broader team.
Availability to travel for case-related proceedings in King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties.

Compensation: $120,000–$225,000, plus bonuses

Pay: $120,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
