About the Role

MYP Horticulture is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator & Office Assistant to join our growing team. This position plays a key role in ensuring the efficient movement of incoming and outgoing shipments while supporting inventory management and sales order processing.

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, enjoys solving problems, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can effectively manage multiple priorities.

Key ResponsibilitiesLogistics Coordination

Book, schedule, and track all incoming and outgoing shipments.
Coordinate domestic and cross-border transportation with carriers, suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
Select appropriate carriers, negotiate freight rates, and optimize shipping routes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Monitor shipments and proactively resolve delays, damages, or transportation issues.

Shipping & Documentation

Prepare and process shipping documentation, including:
Bills of Lading (BOLs)
Customs documentation
USDA certificates
Export and import permits
Other required transportation documents
Ensure all shipping activities comply with transportation regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
Coordinate customs clearance and resolve customs-related issues to ensure timely delivery.

Customer & Carrier Communication

Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, carriers, drivers, suppliers, and internal departments.
Provide shipment updates and respond promptly to inquiries.
Deliver professional and courteous customer service while maintaining strong working relationships.

Inventory & Office Support

Assist with inventory-related data entry and maintain inventory accuracy.
Support sales order entry and administrative office functions.
Maintain accurate shipping and inventory records.
Assist with additional administrative duties as required.

Qualifications

Previous experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, customer service, or office administration is preferred.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
Experience with inventory management or ERP systems is an asset.
