Full Job Description

Overview
Join our manufacturing team as a CNC Machinist, where you'll play a important role in producing precision-engineered components for the hydroelectric turbine industry. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with CNC machines, programming, and quality control. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about manufacturing excellence, we are very interested to meet you. We are committed to providing a paid, engaging work experience that fosters growth and technical mastery. You will be working on a variety of machines to manufacture an array of custom parts, mostly for hydroelectric turbines.

Duties

Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to produce high-precision parts according to detailed drawings and specifications
Interpret technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files to ensure accurate fabrication
Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and adjust parameters for optimal performance
Conduct routine inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other quality control tools to verify part dimensions
Perform tooling changes, machine maintenance, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maintain production flow
Handle materials safely using forklifts and other warehouse equipment; assist with materials handling and fabrication tasks as needed
Maintain detailed documentation of production processes, inspection results, and machine logs to ensure compliance with quality standards

Qualifications

Proven experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing or factory environment
Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical drawings
Proficiency with CNC programming. Or, an interest to learn CNC programming.
Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar design tools
Ability to use hand tools, precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations
Knowledge of fabrication processes including welding, stamping presses, press brake machines, and fabrication tooling is a plus
Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklift equipment is a plus.
Mechanical aptitude with factory experience in machining, materials handling and packaging is a plus.
